What is the recommended age range for children subscribing to THiNK OUTSiDE?

Our boxes were created for a wide age range. This box can be suitable for ages 4-8 with parent guidance and participation—a great way to build family connection! For ages 9-14+, your kids will gain confidence in the outdoors with our challenges and education while exploring the box independently.

How much does the subscription service cost?

We offer several different pricing plans. Please visit our Pricing details for more details on each of our plans.

When will I be billed?

Your credit card will be charged immediately based on your selected pricing plan. Our processing renewal date is the 25th of each month. Please note that we bill in advance of packages being shipped in order to process the shipments. Your Intro box will ship within 10 business days of your initial order date. All subsequent boxes ship out around the 5th of each month.

How do subscriptions work for siblings?

Families can order individual subscriptions for each sibling, or they can share one subscription amongst multiple siblings. If purchasing multiple subscriptions for your family, we automatically apply a sibling discount on renewals when boxes are shipped to the same address. To take advantage of the sibling discount ($2 off per box), simply add each subscription to your cart and check out in one order.

You can also purchase one box for your children to share. Please note that sharing one subscription only provides one set of outdoor gear. However, you can purchase additional gear, such as a backpack, with your first order by clicking here.

How do you develop the content and materials for THiNK OUTSiDE?

We have partnered with several companies to carefully source outdoor products suitable for young adventurers. Our content is curated from credible online and print sources, and activities are tested with children of various age ranges.

If I am a homeschool parent, how can I use this service?

Our boxes include a 28+ page educational and hands-on activity booklet that can serve as a parent’s curriculum and a supplement to a teacher’s manual or lesson plan. Each month’s booklet includes activities to teach outdoor sciences and STEM-focused topics, such as water filtration, pulley systems, astronomy, and more. Along with the gear and resource cards, our year-long curriculum helps to foster creativity, encourage strategic thinking, and promote empathy.

Do you work with any charter schools?

Think Outside works with many charter schools to allow parents the opportunity to add our program to their home curriculum. If you would like for THiNK OUTSiDE to be included within your charter school's vendor list, please reach out to purchaseorders@thinkoutsideboxes.com.

When will my box arrive?

Your Intro box will ship within 10 business days of your initial order date. All subsequent boxes ship out around the 5th of each month using USPS priority shipping. In most cases, your boxes will arrive within a few business days after shipment. International shipments can take several weeks as the box will need to be processed through customs. In some countries, such as the UK, extra custom charges outside of our control may apply at receipt of the package.

How soon after I place my order will my subscription start?

Your Intro box will ship within 10 business days of your initial order date. All subsequent boxes ship out around the 5th of each month using USPS priority shipping.

When will my subscription end?

THiNK OUTSiDE is designed as a year-long program. Your subscription includes your Intro box plus 12 monthly themed boxes. Your subscription will automatically end after you received all 13 boxes. If for any reason you are not satisfied, you cancel anytime prior to your next renewal.

How can I update the address associated with my subscription if I move?

You can update the address information in your online customer account by logging into My Account. To update your address, please do the following:

1. Login to “My Account"
2. Click on “Subscriptions" on the left menu
3. On the appropriate subscription, select “View/Edit Address" to the far right
4. Beside “Actions", select “Change Address"
5. Update the address as appropriate.
6. Click on “Save Address"

Please note that the address changes should be made by the 27th of a calendar month to ensure shipment of the next theme box to the new address. If we need to resend a box to a different address, additional shipping charges may apply. With questions, please email us at Support@ThinkOutsideBoxes.com.

How do I update my subscription payment information?

You can update the payment information on your account by logging into My Account. To update your subscription payment method, please do the following:

1. Login to “My Account"
2. Click on “Subscriptions" on the left menu
3. Select the subscription number for the subscription that needs updated

Note: If your subscription is on hold, contact us at support@thinkoutsideboxes.freshdesk.com to request the subscription be reactivated for billing updates.

4. Beside “Actions", select “Change Payment"
5. Update the payment as appropriate.
6. Click on “Change payment method"

Please note that the payment updates should be made before the 25th of a calendar month to avoid issues with renewal payment processing.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping within the U.S. and Puerto Rico is always free. International shipping is also available in select countries for an added cost. Orders shipped to Canada will include an additional $5 shipping fee. Orders shipped to the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and most European countries include a $10 shipping fee. Always feel free to contact us at Support@ThinkOutsideBoxes.com to see if we could ship to your country.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel a monthly subscription anytime after the first box ships. Please cancel using “My Account" by 6:00 PM EST the day before your next billing date if you do not wish to receive that month’s box. Cancellation requests received after this date shall take effect the following month. If you wish to email us, please contact us at least two business days prior to your subscription’s auto-renewal date by emailing us at Support@ThinkOutsideBoxes.com.

Multi-month subscriptions (pay every 3 months or every 6 months) can be cancelled anytime prior to your subscription's renewal date. However, the change will not take effect until the original multi-month term has ended. Auto-renewing subscriptions can be cancelled using our online service by 6:00 PM EST the day before your next billing date. Full-year prepaid subscriptions automatically expire after the year is complete and are non-refundable. For more information, please see our Terms of Service.

Do you ship to P.O. Boxes, APO addresses, and US territories?

Yes, we ship to P.O. Boxes, APO addresses, and US Territories using USPS priority mail shipping. If you have concerns that you can't be serviced via USPS, please reach out to us at Support@ThinkOutsideBoxes.com.

Can I indicate a different address for the first box?

Yes. We can ship the first package to you and have the remainder of the subscription shipped directly to the child. Just enter your own address in the shipping address field for the first order. After the 5th, you can update the shipping address under My Account. If you need help, feel free to email us at Support@ThinkOutsideBoxes.com.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover).

Do you charge sales tax?

Sales taxes are collected where required by law. Taxes will be calculated at checkout.

I received a gift card. What are my options on using it?

Now that you received a gift card to our website, you have several options to use it:

  1. Sign up for a subscription(s) and enter your gift card code during check-out.
  2. Go to our shop page at www.thinkoutsideboxes.com/shop and browse through our cool products. Once you added all your items to your cart, enter your gift card code during check-out.
  3. If you already have a subscription or you have a gift card balance that you want to apply to your current subscription, simply log into your account at www.thinkoutsideboxes.com/my-account and go to Subscriptions. Turn on the toggle “Pay with gift card balance” (see below screen shot). This will automatically apply any gift card balance to your next renewal(s).
